Organ donation – What are your thoughts?
Organ and tissue donation is the process of taking healthy organs and/or tissues from a donor (either living or deceased) and transplanting the organs and/or tissues into another person. Every year, more than 8,000 Americans die while they are waiting for an organ transplant. Just in California, more than 22,000 residents are currently waiting for donated organs. One organ donor can save the lives of up to 8 people, while one tissue donor can save/enhance the lives of as many as 50 people. What do you think about the idea of organ donation? I personally think that organ donation is really useful because, as you mentioned, it can save the lives of so many people without harming the person that the organ was taken from. California being such a progressive state, should definitely change their DMV organ donation section to opt-out. By changing this, I am sure that the people will buy into default neglect and the 22,000 residents waiting for organ donations will decrease as there are more donors.
I think that organ donation is a really worthwhile cause because it helps save the lives of many people in need. Organ donation can be either from living or deceased donors and I think that all of us in California should register to be organ/tissue donors.
Wow, organ donation is really important. Since the DMV does not cover a curriculum on organ donation, it is difficult for people to know what they are agreeing to unless they do more research. Therefore, lots of people are discouraged from signing up to be an organ donor. This website gave me a deeper understanding of what organ donation really is and the myths that many people believe in. I agree that everyone should be an organ donor!

I actually was reading through your website and one of the most fascinating parts was about the myths because I actually thought that many of those were true. It is good to know that you are proposing a change at the DMV because it is so important that people sign up to be organ donors after knowing what the organ donation process is really all about instead of being persuaded by the misconceptions that are associated with organ donation.
